Got an email from a superior: I have a meeting where I’ll be getting in trouble this week

I suppose I’m looking for advice. I’m less than a year into a job I generally like. I work with 4 different departments and one department is run by 2 people who are both fairly passive aggressive and protective of their work. Long story short a project got messed up in some capacity and now I have to have a meeting about it on Thursday. I don’t mind admitting a mistake, but when I emailed the superior who called the meeting, they refused to elaborate on the mistake. This is frustrating as it means I might have outstanding mistakes that I’ll waste a day not correcting because this person doesn’t like sending emails. How can I flip the script on this person in a professional way? I’m not looking to get into a big fight, but I would really love if I could stop them in their tracks before the…

Overheard a mistake at a gas station.

I regularly stop at this gas station for beer after work. Today I overheard that the cashier accidentally put the wrong tank for a customer buying gas. That's a simple mistake right? But the owner forced him to pay out of pocket for the mistake right then. It was for 60$ if that matters. And this is in Wa. It just doesn't sit right with me that the cashier had to pay, even though it was supposedly his fault. If a cashier messes up at a grocery store, or fast food place, ect; doesn't the business eat the cost of the mistake?

How To Convince Older Company Head To 4 Day Work Week

I’ve started loads of research and will be doing a lot more. Through some back and forth I’ve gotten close to convincing a manager, and even the director below the CEO, and addressed topics like productivity, employee retention, profits, availability to our customers, how to lean into it with small trial groups, and how we would measure if it’s successful. Basically everything from what problems it solves, benefits it brings, how is applies to our business model, and timeline. The current wall that must be breached is justifying 40 hours wage for 36 hours worked. Fucking with the 2048 is a huge deal, and the idea of explaining that productivity will go up to make up for, or even surpass previous productivity, is not enough. They still see it as free money. In my mind you can’t say “we should pay you strictly hours worked” because the equivalent productivity we…

These MOFOs

These MOFOS and their 90% of the world wealth split between 20 people better start fucking paying us when we get sick with covid again, what ever happened to capital punishment? We should really delve into that reality again. I’m sick of being a slave who has to choose between groceries and getting a cavity filled even tho I work 60-70 hours a week. Can someone teach me how to make $30,000 a day by clicking a couple buttons on my phone like these dudes on Instagram? Like wtf even is reality anymore yo

Denied Seating And Matts

So around a year ago they took all our chairs and put them in a dumpster and we were told we aren’t allowed to have a seat. They have no reasoning on why the chairs were removed. I work in a big factory with around 2.5k people in it. A couple people in my area have been complaining about back and knee pain. Went to my supervisor to ask about getting matts at the least so we don’t have to stand on the concrete all day. Today I went to talk about getting matts. Told him Paul has to go lay down on a pallet because of his back pain. Was told and I quote “Paul’s like 90”. I have scoliosis and have had 3 surgeries on my leg. The lady that works beside me has a torn meniscus. Is their anything that can be done? Can I tell someone…

All the higher ups are on PTO, and I can’t get anything done, and I couldn’t be happier

I don't know what's going on, but I've been seeing this branch of the company I work for burn. I'm a transplant from another department with two others (who have moved on to new work) they had over 75 people bounce for harsh treatment. Shockingly Management took notice and has been trying to turn things around, better hours more hires (no one stays for long), more pay, etc. It was amazing, then I woke up and realized that last bit was horseshit and I had to go back to work. I'm stuck currently because insurance is covering all of my wife's meds. With 8+% inflation coming around the bend if I don't find a new job making over 75k a year by January I won't be able to afford living under my In-laws. This job in 6 months has aged me horribly. I'm on mobile so sorry for any mistakes.

I’ve gotten to the point I’d rather go to jail than to continue working

Atleast in jail I'm guaranteed food, a place to lay down, basic health coverage, and I don't have to worry about paying bills, or rent. Granted I have to stay holed down for a long period of time but given the alternative, I would be fine with that. Anyone else feel the same? Edit: I am so burned out that going go jail would be a much needed vacation for me.
