And now that they’ve all left try and pick up the pieces by offering everyone a raise and hosting calls on how to hire people effectively my work right now. I love the chaos and how downhill it’s getting !!
Do you think the risk is worth it?
First off, I know what it feels like to experience hell in a job. I do. I left that job years ago and have been happy in my current job ever since Financially, emotionally, and support-wise happy However, I was helping a friend with her resume on Indeed, and accidentally stumbled across a job posting that was similar to mine with a pay that was substantially higher For the record – on a scale of 1-10, based on the average market rate in my area for this position, if 5 is average salary range my current job is 8 or 9 so it’s already above and with good annual raises. This job posting is about 20k-25k more bringing this job in the top 10 percentile of the market (for this particular job market) The thing is, I’m afraid what if it’s like the past hell job I had, also I’m…
WHERE IS MY 17% PAY RAISE?!
As the title says, a former coworker has been posting about a workplace who has been incentivizing her with reviews on google mentioning her name that gives her 10-15 dollars per review. She’s continued this for the company for 3-4 months now requesting help over social media and personal messages. The company is fraudulent for giving these incentives along with bonuses for doing such tasks. You can look at their google reviews and see people with no history going on there copy and pasting how she did a good job mentioning XYZ. there are several of her coworkers that had people do this as well. My question to the subreddit is how could I go about reporting this? They’re a financial group who’s pushing fake reviews to look better and it doesn’t sit right with me.
I missed quite a few days from work for personal and medical reasons on my end, over the last few months. Received a verbal warning about attendance before they put me back on the schedule. A few days later I put in an advanced time off request stating I’d work two of my scheduled off days to make up for the days I was requesting off, but was told my time off would depend on my attendance since our verbal agreement. Didn’t end up missing a day until Tuesday when I called out Ill, due to some of the side effects of my new medication. The next day (Weds) I was told they wanted a doctors note stating my medication didn’t have me fit to work. My Dr. and I communicated via the health portal, and I kept my employer updated about gathering documentation to send over, I even showed…
i work in at a daycare and most of my coworkers have children (i don’t). because of the hurricane, all of the surrounding school districts were closed so my coworkers couldn’t come in. by the end of the day yesterday, me and my boss were the only people who were coming in with about 40 kids planning to come. everyone stood up for me saying that it’s not fair to leave me alone with all these kids. it’s also illegal btw but that’s a different story. anyway, she told everyone that they had to come in from 7:15-1:15 or else they would lose their pto. i hate this job.
Got hired then ghosted
I'm a bartender. Not a job I see often in this sub. so I thought I'd start with that. I'm not sure for all places in the US, But my location is still one of those where “everywhere is hiring” due to more people leaving the industry after/during covid. Almost everywhere except the truly fantastic places with almost zero turn over are either constantly hiring or just running their staff to the bone and refuse to hire. I've recently worked for both types in the past. A nightmare either way if you ask me. I decided to try my luck at one of those zero turn over bars. They're a great community bar. Everyone from local artists and bands to randos off the street hang out there. Its nice. Anyway, I get lucky and get the interview. Then I get a call back. Then I get the job and do…
I used to work at this super dodgy company and they amount of illegal shit they’ve done is crazy. I’m not gonna go into it fully because there’s just so much so I’ll just explain the current situation. I’ll try and keep this short. But to add context, I quit after they made false accusations towards me in the office that gave me a mental breakdown and after they told me and my friends we weren’t going to be able to finish our apprenticeship because they didn’t want to pay us min wage. I’m doing much better nowadays and just got a new job that I love. He’s an apprentice and they’ve made him management, they put him in charge of a team he knew nothing about. Now they’ve sacked a bunch of people they’ve kinda just forced him to work in about 5 different teams. Recently however, they’ve been…
