In June I left a good salaried managerial position at a start-up for an hourly position at a non-profit. This new position pays lower than what MIT determined to be the living wage in my city…. in 2019. I purposely downgraded because I was burnt out on managerial challenges, and was not given the tools to succeed. Anyway, two weeks into this new position, someone in direct vicinity and contact with the team I work with comes down with Covid. Company protocol states that if you are not fully vaccinated by CDC definition (full vax plus booster within the last 5 or 6 months) then the you have to be sent home for 5 days with pay. Going back to work today…
After a summer break that began with my boss sending me an email disparaging my performance, and follow-up emails insinuating I'm not in the long-term plans, I am heading back to work today for the first time and I'll have to see her. Ugh. The criticism is BS, but there's nothing I can do about that. I have the receipts to show an extraordinarily productive year, but she's poisoned the well for the upcoming job search this spring that I was always slotted for. I just have no desire to deal with that. I am definitely not staying after this year, but I have to find a way to put up with her. Ugh. Just venting.
Just as the title says, I'm wondering if this is a tracked metric in any way? You always hear about the shooter's race, religion, politics, mental health, etc. I'm guessing that slave wages and the expectation to be a toilet for the public is a common thread, but didn't really find anything in a cursory googling… Idunno, like its never some rich, well-off fuck being like “Reginald, gather the provisions, we've a Wallmart to clear out.” I guess public relations/mass murderer, if customer service/shooter is too narrow in… scope. and no, I'm not defending deplorable actions, I'm just honestly curious if this is something anyone has looked at in a clinical sense.
