So simply doing your job and not going above and beyond is somehow “quitting” or in other words giving up? Does this not sound like the ultimate gaslighting of the working population? No, we’re not quitting, we’re doing what we’re paid to do. Nothing more and nothing less. If you want me to go above and beyond, pay me!

Fired while on disability
I’m not sure if this is the place for this but I am livid and stressed. Back in August my disability and illness progressively got worse to the point I had to use all my PTO. Back in August I told my employer that I needed to apply for disability and he flipped right away and said I was a terrible worker and hung up on me. Well I’ve been on Short Term Disability since and just yesterday received a letter of termination with false claims to my work ethic. This is clearly in retaliation to my needing disability seeing as how I was let off training early, and constantly given praise on my good work ethic up until I needed disability benefits. I don’t understand how there’s not better protection for people who need benefits. Oh yeah and of course now my insurance is going to cut off about…
can i get sued?
i used to work for a lender that is essentially a bully in the industry, towards its employees, clients and competitors. Company has toxic work environment and violates industry laws on the regular. Loans are predatory and over priced. Bankers are forced to work overtime without OT pay, compensation plan is confusing and doesn't make sense. The list of issues is long and the physiological distress the majority of the workers go through is real. I had enough and spoke up, recently had an interview with a reporter from pretty large company. I know some others have spoke up too but we're all scared to get sued. the company throws around “defamation of character” threats all the time. However everything we are saying about them is true. A part of the reason why they have been able to get away with this stuff for so long is because people are…
My wife works almost full time and I'm a stay at home dad. I have a 2 year old daughter and my wife is 7 months pregnant however our unborn son is having medical issues and in order to have a safe delivery we have to travel 4 hours to a very good hospital so that they can do the surgery. All in all it's a little stressful in terms of travel times but it sounds like this case is incredibly mild and shouldn't be a whole lot of trouble in terms of survivability for our son. Unfortunately, because of the long distance to the hospital we need to go to, and because of the volatility of the way they work, they keep giving us a week or two notice for our next appointment, and my wife is a teller at a federal bank. My wife has already missed a…
