Anyone trying to sue anyone on this yet. If they are monitoring behavior it can lead to them getting some behavioral diagnosis (prolly even forced/bs) from typing/work patterns. Seems like outside of the normal fucked-upness of it all, there are some potential privacy concerns in regards to health and that leading to discrimination
Is it me or is 1 day of sick leave/month not enough? I used to have a stellar immune system and never missed work, but have been struggling to stay healthy this last year. I work with Preschools and my husband moves around a lot for work, so I’m never in one place long enough to accumulate any time. This past year, I got sick twice (with COVID and Flu) and burned through all my sick time plus 3 hours. I got a disciplinary strike on my personal record for the 3 hours over. Is anyone else fed up with the way this all works?! Why aren’t good workers allowed to be sick without destroying their perfect records?!
Looking for advice please
Hi everyone, I’m currently working in a very toxic environment in a private hospital and I’m trying to change my job as I can’t take it any longer. I’ve been accepted for a non clinical medical secretary but the whole process has been really a pain and I’m not sure if this is normal, especially for someone who’s only going to deal with patients on the phone (I have no mention, not face to face). Am I about to get fired?
Not sure if this belongs here. A few days ago my boss threatened to fire me at the end of November. Today they sent me a mail saying I should provide them with a list of my duties, passwords and contacts relating to my job. Tomorrow I have a meeting before working hours, should I expect to get fired?
I work for the county and I’ve never experienced such intensity of questioning if I call in sick. I was in a probation period for 6 months when I started. I hardly took anytime off except for my grandma’s funeral and only 1 time I went home sick. I passed the probation period and finally felt like free in terms of the ability to finally call in sick without feeling like weird about it. It just feels equally as worse. I called in sick for 1 day in august. I called my supervisor in the morning before work started and she didn’t answer. I left a message saying I’m sick. She then followed up asking me to call her back when the office opens. So I was in and out of sleep on top of not feeling good. I called and had to explain what I was feeling. At the…
