My Job keeps playing religious videos on a company t.v. in our break room.

I told the manager and showed him pictures of this religious material and explained that it's offensive and it's not allowed in the workplace. He got offended and said I was trying to manipulate him and his management team. He had me sit in a room with him and two other lower level managers as witnesses as he berated me with questions and seemed to be trying to get me to say I was lying or catch me off guard, he said he felt threatened because I said I was going to file a lawsuit, ( which I repeatedly told him in this conversation that I never used the words law or suit or anything even close to it!). He ignored my concerns of what was being played on the t.v. a few weeks earlier I filed a harassment complaint to H.R. about my immediate supervisor because he harassed everyone…

Employment thoughts.

Just kinda throwing this out there. There was a conversation on another thread about how companies will only let you only work 29 or 32 hours to keep you under the “part time” category. It seems to me that we really need to have the discussion of employers who have over so many employees company wide, say Subway for example, should be required that for every 100 employees they must have 75 full time employees. This will of do so much for people who can't get benefits currently. What do you think?

Contract work Ethical Question

So I have a friend who is unemployable due to a felony. However, he is more than qualified for the IT Field. I also have 20+ years in the IT field and we have floated the Idea of me taking contract work as an LLC and paying him to do the actual work. We would be going after the contracts using my 20+ years of Experience and clean record. I feel like it's kind of a bait and switch but if the company got all the work done and was happy with it they would be none the wiser… He would be able to maintain an at or near 6-figure income where he normally wouldn't due to background check issues.

This is why America SUCKS

They refuse to pay a living wage, have trouble grappling with their history’s issues, take heavy pride in their country and denounce and refuse to educate themselves on the rest of the world, have serious issues within their government/positions of power (ie. police force), and you can place yourself in hundreds of thousands of dollars in dept for having an infected injury, as well as for attempting to educate yourself (art school is particularly horrendous, with several covered up suicides a year, and the industry itself is difficult to find a place in). They are currently on a genocide watch list, in Stanton’s ten stages of genocide they’re pegged as “denial”. As of for why, it’s hard to say. Their history has lead to an increasingly patriotic society, which often leaves room for many overly patriotic and entitled people. Hence the whole “white middle aged American Karen” stereotypes. I would…

Not getting the hours I need

I graduated and moved and am working 2 jobs Job A is just 2 days a week and Job But is 4 days A is bussing, I can't really work more than 2 days because during the week it's slow and can only have 1 busser on, I used to work Saturdays there and I was doing more work than getting paid for so I switched that day – and closings are the worst I don't get out until really late and those doubles are terrible B is a sandwich shop. 2p-4p are their slowest hours so they only keep 2 or 3 people on during that time. We get to make our own availability sheet each month and I've told them I need 22-24 hours a week I just got my own apartment and it's $1035 a month – thankfully my dad is helping me pay for utilities because…

So the new policy at my place of work is if you are sick with covid and want to come in to work you can, and you dont have to wear a mask at all if you don't want to. Basically they just said they dont care come into work with covid without a mask if you want. Has other workplaces started this bs?

Well, I (practically) lost my job last Friday.

I work at an aircraft production/repair plant as a junior engineer. I'm still in the trial phase, but on that day my boss called me in and said they've had enough and that they've made the decision. They'll let me stay for the trial phase, but after that I'm certain to not get the full-time job offer. The reason is that I've never had enough of the workplace etiquette in my life and I managed to break a lot of unspoken rules, some of them being just common sense, as well as tend to doze off on the company time (in my defense, it's only happening in the downtime and I'm perfectly capable of performing my active tasks without dozing off, but still). I tried to convince them that they won't have to worry about me anymore and that I've learned like 90% of my lessons but to no avail.…

Trash can gift

My mom works janitorial services at a hospital. The crew was given little toy trash cans with bandaids in them for a “janitorial appreciation” day. What happened to hood old fashion cash/gift cards. Wtf.
