Title pretty much sums it up and I just need to rant. My girlfriend works for a private school currently as an art teacher. The work environment there is super toxic. It's a for profit system since it's a private school, she (as well as the other teachers and educators) get 0 support from the higher ups, and her classroom is the only one in the basement so no one (aside from students) ever talks to her. She recently found a job listing in the public school sector that is perfect for her and when she applies, they told her that they wanted her to start ASAP. She put in her two weeks and this Friday is her last day. Well the new school called her today and said that because she doesn't have her teaching license/certificate yet (specifically because they don't know where she is at in the process…

Crying on company time
Perception > Family
I’m not sure this is the right place for this post. Maybe I just need to vent or get your insights on how to move forward. For context, my father had a stroke last week. My family lives out of state so when my boss was making the new schedule I, during a zoom meeting, requested to WFH if boss put me on the in office shifts so I could still easily visit my family and not have us short staffed. If not possible I said I would take vacation. Well she scheduled me for the in office position. Lately though…
Can I legally be fired without reason?
Recently I started a new job (I really need the money) and I was signing paperwork for it. One of the notes stated that I “can be let go without reason or warning at anytime”. Is that legal? QLD australia if important.
