Like no joke, is part of this just a passive aggressive move or an exploit for opportunity? “Make me Pay my employees a living wage will you!? Enjoy your extra $2 price hike on a Soda f***ers!” Is that what going on? Or is it possible. That simply some companies are raising prices simply because they can under the Inflation bandwagon? “I’m so sorry guys! I know my $1 menu is now the $4 Menu! But inflation!!! There is nothing I can do!!!!” 🤑🤑🤑🤑
I've seen employers tout the fact they're on some “Best Places to Work” lists, like Glassdoor, Fortune, etc. Does anyone have any insight on how they manage that? Some of these companies have some very well-known controversies about employee treatment (putting it mildly). Plus, if you got to employee reviews, a lot of those companies are lucky to break 3 stars. A friend of mine said they can pay to be on those lists, but I haven't found any proof of that.
After call survey
The survey asked if I would hire the person I talked to for my business. I’ve never had a survey ask that.
Declining an offer feels soo good.
I already have a pretty good job but I always keep an eye out for other higher paying positions. I found one and applied a few weeks ago, went through 3 rounds of interviews and got an offer that is about 30% more than my current salary. I work in IT. I had a meeting with my boss and his boss and let them know that I would be leaving if they could not match the offer. I found out today that they are matching it! This will be the second non-negligible raise I've gotten via “threat” of leaving for higher pay (with proof showing I can) It felt so good to decline an offer from a huge company that could have easily wasted my time and selected one of the others they were interviewing. They did not seem too happy about it which I found ironic. Just a reminder:…
Can we get raises?
Higher ups giving us a meal instead of what we all really deserve/want/need. How about giving us a decent raise?
The HR person looked super flustered and even giggled a bit before telling me they couldn't answer that, but then went on to say that they were expanding operations to that area and that's why. What do you think of that response? I think it's shady AF and I'm not getting good vibes at all, am I being paranoid?
My wife's coworker has a “serious illness” according to an email from HR. Rather than working with the employee to take advantage of family/medical leave, the employee's own PTO, and then just giving a paid leave of absence, the company has asked other employees (who get very little PTO, btw) to donate PTO to this sick coworker. How embarrassing for the company.
