My childhood friend’s dad has terminal cancer and he’s in hospice. She wants time off to spend with him, but her job where she’s a manager is short-handed and she can’t get away. The company is too small for her to claim FMLA. What would you do? I feel so bad for her.

She searched for a new job forever and was so excited to land this one, and her promotion to manager was icing on the cake. I’m so relieved I have a boss who would absolutely understand if I took time off!

No one Wants to work anymore…

I've been actively job hunting for over a month after medical issues kept me out of work for 6 months. A lucrative job opportunity pops up, I submit my resume, they get back to me. They set up a phone interview for 9:40 this morning. I set up childcare for my toddler and take time out of my day to have this interview. 9:40 rolls around. Nothing. I start rechecking the email to see if I missed a link or something. Nothing. I waited for 30 minutes, no phone call. In the meantime another, even more lucrative opportunity pops up. I fill out the resume crap (the ones where you have to submit a written resume and fill out the same information elsewhere, ugh). I notice that the job is for fall 2022 even though it only posted this morning. I write to ask if they are hiring for later…

After having failed to get jobs due to not being “a part of the establishment”, Clark said that he “got to a point where I said ‘you know what, screw this, I’m going to bolster up the resume and put some letters behind my name’ and bam.”

Got Told all the Higher Ups hate me [For doing what I was told]

There have been errors happening in a sister department at our facility. I reported them to the supervisor of that department. Nothing happened. I told the manager. He told me I was wrong. The issues were affected my work because we get the units they do. The company we work for asked me about it since they thought it was my error. I told them no, it was the other department and this is what's happening (xyz). That caused a big ruckus. 2 weeks later the company we work for AND our company's Engineer manager told me any errors I find I need to report them before doing anything directly to “Kelly” (who is from the company we work for). I told this to my supervisor and manager. They were fine with it. Error 1 & 2 rolls in. I showed my Supervisor and told him I need to send…

I thought that was a hilarious (and perfect) response, though! Don’t have original link, sorry.
