Work from home scam

So I’ve recently accepted and started a new job at a small but multinational company. On the job listing they proudly listed one of their perks as a hybrid work system. Even during the multiple interviews they established that everyone was working 3 days in the office/ 2 days at home. However when I started work they told me that the expectation is that I work from the office full time (5 days a week) at least for the first few months – and then the hybrid work system will be evaluated if my performance is good enough. I’ve been working remote the last 2.5 years and one week in the office FULL time has already DRAINED ME. I already feel burnt out :/ I know not everyone has the luxury of working from home but in this scenario, What should I do? Is it reasonable for them to ask…

Reason #57492974 why i’m leaving this job

I work in EMS in the US, and the other night a coworker took his life. One of the people who had to respond was his best friend who grew up next to him and had known him her whole life. Naturally she’s been pretty shaken up since the call. So far she’s only had 1 shift covered (she’s literally scheduled to work 144 hours a week) and the rest our boss assumed she’d be fine to work (spoiler, she isn’t🥴). I got in Trouble for taking Silverware from the Café to put in the Employee breakroom

I've been taking plastic silverware from the customer eating area to fill the breakroom and one of the café managers saw me yesterday. She chased me from up front to the break room just to say, “it's fine, just dont take so many!” THEN I COME TO WORK TODAY AND APPARENTLY, SHE WAS BITCHING ABOUT ME DURING THE MANAGER MEETING SAYING I WAS STEALING CONDIMENTS AND SHIT!!! husband’s boss asks him every week about his intermittent FMLA

Just like the title says. Every week my husband's boss gets email updates about any active leaves his employees have. My husband has an intermittent leave active for a full year because I am disabled with RA (rheumatoid Arthritis and chronic migraines) both conditions with flares. And we renew it every year. It's been this way since I received my diagnosis 3 years ago. 2 months ago my husband got a new Asshole of a boss and every week when that email comes in he pulls my husband into the office and grills him about the leave. He wants to know the nature of my disability, how long the leave is for, etc. And every time my husband tells him it's none of his business what my disability is but the FMLA goes until December when we will renew it. I am so sick of this

I am so sick of seeing job listing that say “Up to X amount of money.” I am so sick of seeing that I need 5 years of experience for a job that pays less than my horrible retail job which already doesn’t pay enough. I need a well paying job to support myself while I am already spending a fortune to go to school. I can’t even afford to live and rent is starting at 1500 for a STUDIO in my area!! I am so sick of these companies making me take on so much more responsibility than what I am being paid to do. I don’t know what to do anymore.

Why should an employee get coverage foe their own shift? They are not “managing” the day today operations of the store?

I'm a teacher so I'm just lost on this one. A manager manages (ideally). How the fuck is making sure shifts are properly filled NOT his/her job description? I keep reading these stories and it just seems unreal they wouldn't be doing that.

What’s the difference between prison and the traditional office job, other than being able to leave the premises at night and choose your own uniform?

Edit: I know this sounds like a very pessimistic post, but I’m not trying to fully take a work = prison stance here. Just trying to think about how much better the benefits of work life are, and how we can even further improve/widen that gap.

Maximum Wage of $200,000

Chances are, if somebody is making over 200k, they are exploiting either workers or buyers. 200k in today's money is about the most any one person's own labor can actually be worth. Someone making 200k can live a comfortable and luxurious lifestyle with all their needs met and then some. 200k Maximum Wage will have the effect of reducing rent, reducing inflation, reducing medical bills etc. eliminating the possibility of an upper upper upper wealthy class(and beyond) while make everyone else's earnings and assets worth significantly more. People tempted by our current unlimited maximum wage can justify committing atrocities for obscene and extreme personal prosperity. Having a capped maximum wage will put a limit on the practical license somebody can justify for inflicting suffering. Real estate is only valuable because it is investment fodder pillaged from basic human needs. A 200k maximum wage would make it no longer reasonable to…
