Fuuuuuck work
It’s so nice outside and I’m stuck answering phones to nasty, obnoxious people who constantly cut me off and yell at me. I want to scream and run out of here. I’m turning 28 and feel like a failure. Fuuuuuuuck this job and these people.
I feel like every few days a new TikTok video of some 25 year old girl working at a glorified adult day care goes viral and people get mad for ALL the wrong reasons. I actually worked at a company like this and it's fucking terrible but not for the reason people think. The girl herself (it's seemingly always a girl) didn't do anything wrong. She found a job with a lot of great perks, and took it, because who the hell wouldn't. Now, what people tend to get wrong is they assume she doesn't work “All she does is eat snacks and drink boba all day!” She probably does work, and she might even work a lot, she just doesn't videotape it because it's boring as fuck. I work at least occasionally with grocery stores. There is a lot of waste, and I am able to accidentally damage the odd item or buy one or two extra things per food order (there is a certain amount of “shrink” within the order totals in case prices change, so $5-15 extra doesn’t raise red flags). I think it’s sort of fraud, a la the folk song “One Piece at a Time” about the auto factory dude who stole one part at a time until he had a whole car. I’m also not using my usual Reddit account for this because I’m worried about backlash. My friends live in a rural area of my state with few resources. He has cancer.
