Many years ago I interviewed for a PC retailer (rhymes with Shell) for a store manager. Had a lot if skills education and experience for the roll and pay was decent for the time. Lo and behold HR thought I didn't have enough experience for the manager spot (I had 6+ years experience at the time) and offered me the starting level sales associate for barely above minimum wage. Naturally I turned it down and WAY more politely than I should have. Thanks to this forum I realized the job was likely a bait-and-switch from the very beginning. KNOW YOUR WORTH PEOPLE!

I live in the UK and had a range of jobs in different industries but its not a term over ever had used, is this the same as getting a written warning (normally I've seen a verbal, then a written then getting kicked out the door for minor misconduct and straight out the door if gross misconduct)? I normally just ignored any verbal or written petty stuff as it normally gets ignored unless someone really has it in for you as they normally have needed me more than the hassle of replacing me.
Love my work, hate my job
Aimless ranting and complaining ahead. You’ve been warned. I’ve been at my current job over four years and ready for the next chapter. Pros: I get to lead a small team of amazing people who I care for deeply. We get a decent amount of autonomy. It’s fully remote. Cons: Overt VP abuser in my department who’s been on less than a year and already had one person quit. My team has been a steady fixture through a lot of attrition and changes and it’s been very hard on us. After being managerless for almost a year, my new manager of almost two months hasn’t spent any time trying to get to know me or my team. Just throwing work at us with very little clarity or context. Almost all the work we do is rushed and sloppy and we are frequently forced to drop what we’re doing to work…
I am working in my first full time role (due to pandemic/grad school/internships/health). I loved the job at first, but then someone got fired and I got all their work with no raise. Also, the company owner is an incredibly toxic micromanager and I literally hate them (really abusive person). And no thank you for the immense amount of extra work sprung upon me from them, either. I’ve only been there 3 months, but I don’t want to let go of my first full-time role and keep hopping around. I also love my co-workers. What should I do? How can I push through?
What is wrong with fast food jobs?
I don’t understand why I am picked on at every fast food job. I don’t know if it’s because of my skin color. This is like the upteenth time I’ve been bullied by a manager and had workers gang up on me. At this current job it started off with a male coworker getting angry because he wanted my attention and then he started to disrespect me and throw items at me. Then this other girl hated me because I was shy and so she forced me to work on a station too quickly and then abandoned me when I needed some help on the grill. She expected me to know everything as quick as possible. The other person working said she didn’t want to push me too quickly because not everyone is gonna learn at the same pace and I JUST LITERALLY LEARNED THAT STATION. This other girl that…
