I work at a goodwill as the dude at the donation door and it can be hell. Especially on the weekend, there are times the horde just keeps coming one after another with their entire car overfilled with stuff that they give to use faster than we can put away. When we ask for help, we get told we're wasting other employees time and making production go down. During a meeting we had, where they also go mad at us for not being the mythical man they described who could do everything alone, they thanked us for doing our job and said that the people at other goodwills. However, we still get payed the same as the other people at those goodwills for 4 times the work. P.s. Back when my mom work at Walmart, she was standing at the door (she was a greeter) and had an earpiece hooked up to a walkie. And she over heard her boss say “we need to open up more registers!!” And one of his fellow supervisors said “But sir, the covid restrictions!” The B0ss then blurted “Covid ain't real, open more registers!!” (This was during the lockdown btw) well she doesn't work there anymore. But they consistently ask “will you come back?!”

Recently had a online behavioral interview “game”. Dumb stock photos followed by what “best” describes you. I've got more photos, but here are the dumbest ones. Keep in mind this fun “game” was 115 questions long . A total waste of time. Sick of people treating full grown adults like fucking children. Don't usually post on reddit, and I hope this post blows up so companies can stop this bullshit, and we can get some change. so when i was younger all i cared about is how much per hour i would make now.. i noticed a weird thing when i job hunt i cant really consider any jobs that are to physically demanding, not because i cant do physical work.. but because the health care in this country is absolute dog shit and i cant risk getting hurt because going to a doctor even with insurance is a major financial setback. and forget about any serious injury that requires multiple visits or a specialist.. i also cant really consider anything outdoors, because being in the heat is no a very real concern and getting worse every year. same goes for being in non climate controlled warehouses or factories. its scary how few of these jobs have made any progress here and at some point they are just going to be flat out unworkable for humans…

I was in a head on car accident before working with them. Showed The accident and my car to my boss. Thought I was hired as a permanent full time employee, because I don’t do seasonal or temporary. Asked for a less mobile position given the obvious need, got one of the more mobile ones instead. Tried to work through the pain. Come day 3 it was getting hard to walk. Went to their medical person, he flat out told me if I don’t have a doctor I should look for a new job. Can’t go without insurance. Didn’t know I was temporary or seasonal or I wouldn’t have applied. I’m worth more than that. Walked up to my boss, told her the same thing as above. Walked out.
