manager trying to manage me out
just had my probation review with my manager and she gave all negative reviews with zero praise and recognition, even with HR present in the call. all her negative reviews could be circled back to 3 minor incidents that happened in the past 2 months which I quickly apologised and rectified on the spot, but she stated that my apology is not sincere enough. afterwards, HR mentioned in a separate call that my manager wants to feel like I need her. appalled and shocked, but most of all demotivated and all my hopes and dreams with this company crushed instantly.
Its a global reset. Not just the pandemic, but the advent of 4 day workweek is making it apparent that employees don’t really need to come down to offices. I’m almost sure that almost nobody is ever interested in office parties or events and are just there to skip some boring agendas. Seriously, if we’re propelling towards better work-life balance, I seriously don’t see the point of offices holding office spaces in peak areas like midtown NYC or similar. Why not use that money to bump up employee’s salary? They’d be better off.
boss has no sympathy for my grief
i am 24F and my little brother (21M) took his own life on sept. 10th. my family and i are absolutely devastated. i booked a flight home and took off 5 days bereavement leave and 7 days sick time. i am grateful to have a job with good benefits and that i was able to take the time off. however i flew back this week and thought i’d be ready to start work the next day (starting remote to ease into it) but the grief is hitting extra hard being away from my family. my boss and i have a very small team and she is acting as if i took a 2 week vacation to mexico and i’m expected to come back full force. no one i work with has checked in on me. going thru hundreds of emails since i was gone, i realized my boss placed a…
Is there another sub just for these stories? Can we put a tag in this sub for cool stories ?
Protect the bottom line at all costs.
So yeah thats basically it. About a week ago I was blamed for a mistake that occurred before being hired at this company. And the person who was trying to get me didn’t like when I pointed out to the people she added on the CC train that I started working May 4 and the error in question occurred on March 11. So cut to today I get an email from this person with my supervisor and the regional manager about a verification process I signed off on being done in blue ink when the process requires it to be done in red ink. After I acknowledged that yes I used blue ink as I honestly didnt think the colour of pen I used matter unless it was a banking document I also do not have any red pens and have not been provided them by my manager to comply…
Because the guy that was supposed to interview me didn't even show up. They told me he wasn't here today and that they would have to call him. Then I waited 20 minutes and then they told me well another supervisor is going to interview me. I told them the person that was supposed to interview me didn't show up that tells me a lot about your company. WTF.
