So I (25) wanna start by saying I don’t live in the US but I do work remotely for an American company. I am being paid 12/hour. That is a GOOD salary for me. The issue is that my boss is pressuring me to complete a job I am not qualified nor trained for, it is not my field of expertise and I have mentioned several times that I have limitations and don’t feel comfortable with the task. So I do multiple jobs and get paid just for one. I don’t get health benefits, PTO, vacations, nor sick leave. I don’t get paid differently for the extra hours I put in (they pay me the same 12/hr). Lately I’ve been working 44+ hours a week. They require an email at the end of the day detailing each task done and it feels like micromanaging. I am very stressed out and…
Walmart Drivers Quit
I live near Knoxville, TN and all of the drivers at my local Walmart who are suppose to be doing deliveries to customers have all quit. And they are having problems trying to find replacements.
What about Atlas Shrugged from literature?
Just quit a cherry gig
I don’t actually need the money rn. I was supposed to get paid yesterday direct deposit for a job in recently started. The dd did not show in my account. I emailed my contact with my employer. I received : The first check is always paper check. Vanessa usually mails the on-call staff’s checks and paystubs. It would’ve put in the mail this morning. I responded: Someone should have let me know. I don’t have a secure mailbox and never have anything important mailed to my address. I would have picked it up. Can you stop payment and issue another that I pick up?
How to handle getting fired, like a boss
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fd_rRWFcEg8
For the past two months ive been working for a machine shop on the third shift. The reason i took this job on was so that we didn’t need a babysitter and I could stay home our baby during the daytime. This turned out to be a much more harder task than I initially thought. In my head i had worked 3rd before with no problems but didn’t account for a 7 month old baby keeping me up when i should be sleeping this time. Kinda thought we’d nap together but she hasn’t been a very good napper. The job I had was kind of BS, the company tried to get me to lie about my wages to employees that had already been there for years. That turned into me finding out i was making 3$ more than the guy training me and turned into drama. 90% of this job…
Bad job or just me?
I was at this job for 2 weeks. I called out for being sick because I caught whatever is going around here. My manager called me like an hour after I had originally called and told me I was fired and that I am unreliable and to return my things.. all because I called out sick as I'm pretty sure nobody else wants to get sick or see me constantly vomit. There was no work probation, there was no warnings, nothing. Just up and said it then hung up on me. I'm still confused about it hours later but I mean they honestly seem like a bad company to work for when the other manager was always giving me such shit for the way I counted money.
I basically got a reward for being the best member in the area… my reward is money to spend in the store, no where else. Surely they still gain profit from me spending that money?
got fired for being sick :)
Never been fired before! I was working there for about three months before I got strep, missed two days, and then worked 56 hours that next week to make up for it. Got a kidney stone for the first time on Monday morning (missed two days), then my roommate brought home COVID while I was recovering. Told my boss I was gonna get a COVID test and instead got a call saying I was let go. Dunno how I'll make rent this month! Love it here.
