Workers are being systematically destroyed for profit. Bosses offer us “self care’ resources. It’s bullshit and we should say so.

Told my boss I quit today. He then transformed into a giant robot and attacked me!

You can only imagine my shock when he transformed and combined with his desk to turn into a giant fighting robot, He almost got me, but I pulled out my trust wallet pocket knife and stabbed him in the hyper cube, now the entire store has been sucked into the nexus and I'm free to tell the tale.

Quit and can’t review

Hi all, just left a job at a clinical packaging company. I was working in accounting. Left the job because I had a lot of work that was never supposed to be mine and couldn’t handle the load. I asked for help for three months and never got much of a response until HR asked me “do you want to resign” like no I asked for HELP. Finally Thursday my manager took tasks away from me but then started to give me more on Monday. More of HER tasks. I was out of there by Friday. I also found out the new hires made more than myself as well as my coworkers who have been there for years, no one has a degree and they all have same amount of experience, but when one of my coworkers (the one who was making more and who told me her salary directly…

Work keeps redefining the position and its classification – Why ?

Working at this place a few years, have always been salaried but it wasn't quite that simple, there was an on-call component that followed a certain formula, which could produce a few hundred extra $ a month. Last year there was a change, we were to be defined as 'Salary Non Exempt' effectively turned into hourly employees at the arithmetical equivalent rate (i.e Pay didn't change). This week we get notice that we are being changed AGAIN to 'hourly non-exempt'. By a casual reading, nothing will materially change in the pay, but WHY ? These things don't get changed without a reason. Additional background: The company got taken over by a venture capital group who has 'big plans' for expansion. Additional additional: For my state the minimum overtime salary threshold was recently increased to approx $45k, so that doesn't apply to my situation. We're a tech company, it's inconceivable that…

is frontliner a legitimate job for one person in restaurants?

I don't mean legally, of course it's legally a job, but I'm wondering what the general opinion is if you're the frontliner. at my job at a Wendy's, I'm the “frontliner” which I didn't even know was a job, I just assumed it was “The cashier” but no. the person at the cashier isn't only meant to take orders and hand them out. they're also supposed to: take out the trash clean up the lobby so it's always looking nice(including the restroom) become the janitor at the end of the day to spend 3 hours cleaning the entire front-end of the restaurant solo.(bussing tables, sweeping, taking out the trash again, mopping, cleaning the restroom, cleaning the trays, and more) make sure you don't run out of lemonade work on the fries do the dishes help take back this giant thing for all that fryer grease help stock up the mini-fridges…

Is it possible to work for a prison without moral conflict?

I've been looking at full-time employment options since my business has been slowing to levels I'm not sure I'm comfortable enduring; however, about the only consistent option in my extremely rural and geographically-isolated community to secure employment that will provide a living wage within our capitalist society is the prison. I am morally opposed to our entire criminal justice system, from the ground up, so I don't see myself taking a position that would cause an internal moral conflict, such as a CO; however, I noticed a job a posting last night that may allow me to spread some humanity in a system that rarely sees any humanity. The prison is looking for a librarian. It's not a position of enforcement, and it would give me a way to connect with incarcerated people and maybe give me an opportunity to help them enrich their lives whether they are bound to…
