What do you think I do here?
To make matters worse buying a house again became way more expensive and I regretted selling my house. I am a home owner again and I used the Two Cup method to manifest a better IT job with respectful managers and people at an Energy company so I am doing good now. I'm currently in Midwest USA and there's lots of racism here. The minorities get fired way more often and easily compared to the white majority. I witnessed an entire department of African American people get fired and the company's main client was a huge national retailer that was previously sued for discrimination and mistreatment of minority African Americans in another state. Then I was fired when I spoke about the wrongs I've seen. But months before I was fired the COO ordered me a prayer matt (Sujaayat) from Amazon. I am genetically part him and from the Middle…
Want to leave my job – need perspective
Hi all, big fan of what is going on here and find myself far more comfortable championing others and not myself. I wanted to share my current situation to try and get some perspective, and advice. (I am located in the United Kingdom) So I am in a WFH job and without sharing too much it is not something that really holds much value (in my opinion) and is a company that manages workers. My own views right from the start made it a bit of a tough pill to swallow, and I hate working with clients who actively try to find ways to pay their employees less, avoiding sick pay and holiday pay etc. From the start my boss made comments on my physical appearance but I put it to one side in an effort to see the person I suppose, despite my discomfort. (I have an ongoing…
Hello from Switzerland
I'm reading posts from this subreddit since friday and I can't stop.. and I also can't believe it. I thought I could show you how things work in Switzerland. Working overtime: You are not allowed to work more than 8 hours / 8 hours and 25 minutes a day. Your boss has to allow that and it's very very rare. As far as I remember, you get 25% of your wages (hourly) on top of that for every hour of overtime you work. Depending on the agreement, you can also compensate them and take vacation time. However, overtime must be reasonable and necessary. If, for example, you have to pick up your daughter from school during the time in which you would have to work overtime, you can reject it. It is not reasonable not to pick up your daughter. Vacation: According to the law, from the age of 20…
Hello. If any information in the title is incorrect, please notify and upvote the appropriate comment or delete my post entirely. I’ve tried looking up news articles and other sources but most just speak about the deaths of individuals who fell into a hole and from a ladder as well as the death of an individual who fell INTO a crucible and what the potential fines are. Which are abysmally low according to what I’ve read when simply searching “Caterpillar Maple Foundry Death 2022”. This is so frightening to me that even when these companies kill people due to incompetence or lack of security efforts they only get a small slap? To put this into perspective, the company made 51$ BILLION with a B in recent years and is the largest construction and mining entity in the world and their fines seem to total up to less than 300,000. Thanks…
british delivery company
As some of you may know a delivery company started a scheme over a year ago that they would let you use a bike and pay you by the hour. As a part time student this fit me perfectly. I would submit my availability a week In advance and get my full contracted hours within my submitted availability. After a while they begain decreasing hours bit by bit telling you that ” you have not submitted availability within our peak hours” ( I always submitted all Saturday and all Sunday)they constantly gave me at least 10 hours under my contracted hours. Only gave my 4 hours in the morning or 4 hours in the evening ect. Since I was depending on them to you know. Survive. I had to find other work but have kept myself on the books with them to make abit of extra cash. making up for…
