Need my tribes advice!
If wrong sub, lmk. I can’t express disdain for work in other subs so apologies in advance. Ok so long story short, I despise my job working as a production manager at a film distribution company. I started my career 20 years ago and thought working in entertainment was so ducking cool and needless to say I’ve been through the ringer a lot. Mental breakdowns, prescriptions, mental health leaves, etc. this shit sucks. I wish I could really explain to you how ducking awful it is more than I already am. I want out. I’m done. We fired the person below me because she was always drunk at work and just a bad seed (to the company). Pissed me off a bit how no one cared if she was ok but moreso how much time she was stealing from the company. Now that she’s gone I am doing the work…
Turns out I landed at 39.1 hours and she said “you could’ve stayed a little longer!!” I’m 17 🤨
Am I owed money from previous employer?
I worked for an insurance agent and chose to leave that job for a better position. When I put in my two weeks on Sept 15, I was told I was terminated immediately and to make sure my timesheet was correct for my last paycheck. I had 3 days in that pay period that were owed but my direct deposit on sept 20 was $22. Of course. I knew immediately my health insurance was deducted. I pay X amount on each pay period. I called my provider and they confirmed my coverage was no longer effective as of sept 30. I found old emails where my boss and her account explained we pay for the month ahead for health insurance, pay in Sept for Oct etc. which is why I originally made double payments when I opted into the insurance. I forwarded her that thread and asked if I would…
This got me salty tbh. I started working at this “marketing company” I was told I would start as a manager trainee making $500 a week and after a year be promoted to a manager. While it turns out what we really do is stand outside of Walmarts, costcos and Sam’s clubs at the exit doing this dumb sales pitch to everyone who leaves the stores. We’re supposed to get the to do monthly donations and if they won’t do that ask them for $25 if they don’t do that just ask for whatever they can give in cash. However, the other people I work with act like scammers telling people they just need a dollar than charging $25 to their card or signing up people who don’t speak English with out telling them they will be automatically charged every month. My 3rd day there I raised over $300 dollars…

“You are one of our top employees. You do all the extra work we need done. You help everyone. So as a thank you here is a 1% raise.” Me- That’s not good enough. I want more “You can get a raise. Just go make more sales.”
