was it just me?
I worked for a oil and gas company for 8 years since I was 18. for the first 3 years I was a receptionist that occasionally did random things for people around the office. things weren't so bad they had a few red flags but not much, this was the honey moon stage I guess. Well are company started getting really busy and I got dragged to employee benefits, and I really enjoyed this job but I was very split between receptionist and employee benefits ( they did not pay me more for taking on the extra work) and that was basically my job for 2 years and by the end of the EB 2y mark all my receptionist task had turned into just answering the phone and doing employee benefits. (now at 5years) well the main employee benefits guy was leaving for another job (there's only two of us)…
How is living in the woods with no money a right wing ideology? Was this red fash just trolling me?
Hello all ! This gonna be one long story and I hope it belongs on this platform. I have this terrible assistant grocery store manager. I was a department manager a few years back and I did inventory one day. My own dept assistant decided to mark something down while getting the store managers (well call him Steve) approval to do so. This led to a crazy number that I didn’t catch once I finalized the inventory . The assistant store manager gave the green light to submit the inventory ( we’ll call him Evan) Come to find out the inventory was wayyyyy off because of this mark down . Long story short I got in trouble for this mishap. But in evans eyes he was the one who got in trouble from the district manager and the store manager Steve . I step down , I become a floating…
Currently I work for a major soda company as a merchandiser which means I will show up to a grocery store and whatever my truck has dropped off I will work to the shelves. Today I walk into my 2nd account and immediately get an ear full from the receiver about how I left a mess in the back room the day previous. Which is inaccurate, at this particular store I know that other company’s/store clerks will move product around and it always generally a mess in the back room at this account. So much so that the electric panels which have posted signs on them warning that it’s a big fine if there is not 3 feet of open space in front of said panel. So I was informed that my boss was told about the mess and how it’s my fault so as long as we are bringing…
This is something I've been struggling to get a straight answer on. I'm working for, let's say, a plumbing outfit. I go out to a job driving the company van and according to the book this job is only supposed to take 5 hours to complete. For whatever reason, the job takes 6 hours to complete and I still need to gas and wash the van and end up putting in 6.5hrs of work (backed up by the van logs and couple personal timeclock apps on my phone). I only get paid for the 5 hours the job was supposed to take and it's logged as 5 hours on my pay stub. Is this wage theft, labor fraud, or something else? Or is this a legal way of doing things? I've worked for other “plumbers” and have never encountered an hourly cap like this and it's setting off all kinds…
2 Weeks Notice or Nah?
I need some advice about how to give notice to my current employer. [Preface this with I have a new job already lined up.] He is a terrible business owner and sits on orders for weeks. I have witnessed several clients saying they feel ignored and becoming frustrated with how long it takes him to create a plan for their project, or to even meet with them on site. I’ve caught him in multiple lies that he tells clients with zero remorse. He comes in late, leaves early, and makes me sit in his showroom just to have someone here. I feel like he baited me into this position – promising me I would become a designer and that I would be doing walk-throughs on site with him. He’s only taken me once in the 5 months I’ve worked here right when I started. I confronted him 2 weeks ago…
