Just Found out my family and I are moving to Australia from Toronto Canada early next year. I’m on the fence about giving my current employer more than 2 weeks notice. I have been asking for another resource since January of this year and the help just isn’t coming. My gut says stick with 2 weeks but my conscience is saying give them as much time as possible to replace me. To be fair they have been a great employer although I have been significantly overworked.
Want to show a recruiter who’s wearing the pants in the relationship? Start the interview off with, “Everyone brings copies of their resume to an interview. Log into your cloud storage right now from that computer you’re sitting in front of and print it out or email it to me… then we can get started!” 😀
I’m late to the quiet quitting party
When I first started hearing about “quiet quitting,” I figured I knew what it was without reading on it. I thought it was basically ghosting your job. It wasn't until yesterday that I learned that it's basically just doing the rock bottom minimum to get by at your job because there's nothing else to do. Well holy crap. I've been doing that for the past 5 years already I'm at the top of the ladder for what I do, and nobody gives a shit about what I think or do. So I make my production and then play video games on the clock for as many hours during the day as I can swing. Sometimes it's zero. Sometimes it's 5 hours. Usually it's about 1 to 2 hours. Doing the minimum for fixed pay is a no-brainer. Unless you truly want to pursue the never-ending “career ladder,” there's no point…
Hard-working man and the Bosses
This happens all of the time!
Any other daycare workers here?
I love working with children and being around them all day but my bosses are always so horrible. At my first daycare job I was told by a young child that bad things were happing at home(she gave more info than that), being this would be my first cps report I went to my bosses for support and told them everything I had been told by the child. They said we should just talk to their parent about it. Absolutely not, if the parent maybe in question of abuse they would likely lie to the daycare, and possible make things worse at home. So I made the report and started looking for a new job. Day care 2 was okay at first , I like all my coworkers and the kids of course were great but then me and the girls I worked with realized our bosses were changing our…
The Lie We Live
I won't expose to much Currently working 6-7 days a week 10-12 hours a day, been doing this for a month now and Im Exhausted and it's about to get even worse. Is this legal?
My wife was talking to her ex coworker and found out that the company she used to work for has not payed any of their employees since april 7 of this year. It's a really small company and I'm assuming the business is failing and the owners are basically just stringing the 3 employees along giving them a little money here and there. This is honestly the craziest thing I've ever heard of. I really can't believe they keep going to work to be honest. But shouldn't the employees be able to go to the labor board and get every cent they are owed paid back to them. My wife is considering reporting them to the labor board because the employees are being lied to and believe the owners are eventually going to pay them back. But yeah right.
