Union question.
I want to start a union at my job. Don’t know where to start and would like advice. For context, a group of us just got hired on for a corporate company. At first we thought the pay was pretty decent, but as we all started realizing what the job actually entailed, it being both physically extensive, and a high level sales job; that the pay was not worth what we were making. A few of us are very close friends from school and beyond, so the idea of starting a union came up, but we all didn’t know where to start. From the looks of it too, we’d be the ones bringing it to this company because a lot of people enjoy the work that they do in other locations. Don’t get me wrong it can be a very rewarding job, and there are opportunities to make small amounts…

Happier at work than at home
The nice thing about being at work is my responsibilities don't effect me directly. I zone out and just do my job all day, once my shift ends I don't think about it until the next day, and if there's something i didn't finish I can just finish it the next day or someone else will take care of it. The responsibilities I have at home never really go away, there's always more food to buy and cook, always another mess to clean up, something to maintain, bills to pay, and those kind of responsibilities you cant just ignore, they will always be there and directly effect you.
This is a little too on the nose.
Got Blind Sided With Termination
I work at the medical office. During the interview I clearly explained that I will work only if X amount of hours is provided, because I can't afford to work less. Got a positive response. Second day of work here. Boss: “Can u come tomorrow in the morning instead of afternoon, and then go home before lunch?”. Me: “But it is less hours than my original afternoon shift”. Boss: We don't have many patients after lunch and would send u home anyway”. I'm so much DONE with this! Every job the same scenario. These medical offices have tons of money and they pay me a minimum wage, because I'm a college student. Why can't they just LET me WORK!
