We have 3 working adults and are being evicted because our landlord changed us from a 1 month to a 6 month lease while increasing the cost per month to around $2,000 for a house without working AC meaning we'd owe $12,000 while my mom has to feed my other 3 siblings (i feed myself so i dont use up food at home). To pile things on, we're being sued for unpaid medical debt while having around $550,000 in medical debt in the household with zero way to repay it. We can barely afford food and gas. All of this just has me thinking about how fucked the US is as a country. “how dare you get saved from life threatening illness/injury. you owe us more money than you can realistically pay in a lifetime and will get sued if you can't pay up.” if this isn't straight up class…

Need quick advice on my rights
Currently work on a zero hour contract as a supervisor at a hotel. Usually on 40 hours a week standard, can change, never does. Staff member positive for covid, no one to cover apart from me, I have plans from 3pm onwards so I can't, but I'm already on shift from 7-3, manager wants me to stay until 7pm. The manager has covered in the past, he is off for two days. Should mention It's a small hotel and only requires one member of staff for an 8 hour period. What are my rights? Thanks
So yesterday, my boss (not even the real owner but the old one) gave me a 2nd hat for work, because I just recently moved and misplaced the first one. I had been wearing my buddies band hat which I really like, mainly for the fit and style. There is no dress-code here judging from the lack of an employee handbook, and I've been here over a month and still haven't received any uniforms. I come back from lunch with my hat on, and the old man asks me why I am wearing that hat. I say I just like my hat and its comfortable. He then proceeds to say if you don't want to wear that hat, you won't be working here. I walk out and my coworker is stunned as I am and we smile at eachother. We were all talking about it this morning about how ridiculous…
Can my boss make me work when I’m sick?
Basically my boss called cussing me out because I’ve missed two days because I’ve been puking and shitting (even took a pic of puke to prove) and was telling me how he doesn’t owe me this job and how I just need to ‘push through it’ I work tree service and it’s 96 degrees out today, let’s say hypothetically he forced me to come into work when I was sick and puking wouldn’t that be illegal?
