Considering it's within legality, after all, just like their lying claims of “wanting” to pay more, provide more benefits or make a place even a decent place to work. But if some supplies go missing as well when we leave, I suppose that wouldn't be out of the ordinary either.
Minimum wage rant
I suppose this really hit home for me the other night when I happened across an article about minimum wage being raised and was curious (hopeful) that in my state of NC there would be an increase as well seeing it's currently 7.25 and hasn't been raised in over a decade. To my disgust I find not only isn't it being raised here, but there are seemingly no real great effort to raise it in the future either. What's worst is that Virginia which is a mere stone throw away from me is going to see their minimum wage raised to 11.25 and hour this coming January! Senses discovering this other night I just felt this rage and sickness boiling over inside of me that frankly makes me want to go mad. HOW THE FUCK ARE PEOPLE SUPPOSED TO LIVE ON THIS!!! Myself (25m) and my gf (23f) currently bring home around 175k/year pre-tax. We plan to buy up about 1-1.5 acres of land, build ourselves a home and rent out part of the property as a campground. Without going into too much detail we could create about 5-6 solid revenue streams from this land, which would cost about 115k total. This would allow us to quit both our jobs, and build something for the two of us. As we begin to become profitable we would slowly accumulate the surrounding plots of land to grow our property. Curious if anyone has any thoughts/suggestions or obvious pitfalls we may have overlooked? All advice appreciated.
Maybe pay us more?

I’m new to this sub. Glad I found it. I’ve bottled up a lot about my job because who cares, America. I am about to hit 5 years with my company. I am an administrative professional. After 5 years, I still do not make what the young lady who worked before me made (2 dollars an hour shy.) The owner had a thing for her… I have a wife and 2 sons to provide for and my wife is a teacher, so we barely get by with a mortgage and inflation. I can’t take care of our health or vehicles, we just pray it all works out. I don’t have the “experience” to work elsewhere I assume, since I have not received any callbacks and have been trying help wanted ads these last 5 years. I feel stuck. I hate my job and I hate my pay. I feel no…

I am in Georgia. My employer approached me to sign up for mandatory CPR training. Everyone at my child care center is required to be CPR trained and must retrain every 2 years. They told me the training would deduct $25 from my paycheck. I do not have the option to forgo the training. Is this legal? Thank you.
