This week we had my dead mums anniversary, had to get rid of the family dog, car broke down and the cat needed to be put down too, Not great. My boss got back from holidays and noticed I was a bit off and decided that I must be quitting, is mad at me and so he hasn’t spoken to me all all week.
So I bust my ass for this which pays me $12.50. I come in early, stay late, work on days I'm not scheduled, and do way more than I technically have to do. I just found out new hires are getting paid a dollar more than me and they're not any more qualified than I am and don't do nearly as much work as me. So the plan is next time I go into work I either ask to be paid fairly or put my two weeks in. I was discussing salary earlier today with a coworker when my manager told me we are not allowed to do that (huge red flag, I know) and I could get fired for it. I know this is illegal under the National Labor Relations Act. When I come to them and ask to be paid as much as the new hires, what can…
boss made me smell cat piss
so ive been working at a shelter for about a month. VERY low wage, below min wage here and WAY low for an animal care job. well all i do is clean and care after the animals. my boss is a usually ok person. they barely even bother to involve themselves w my coworkers. and they love to talk shit on every employee whenever they can. ive had bosses shittalk me before, im used to it. but what my boss did yesterday was just bizarre. so i finished cleaning an area w the cats and moved on to the next. i get interrupted on my break to go to see my boss about something. they lead me to a blanket that was in an animal area and proceeded to lecture me on making sure all the bedding isnt soiled or gross. i have been very diligent about cleanliness ever since…
still complaining about “labor shortage”
Worth it to leave a job after 5 months?
Hey y’all don’t want to give anything away but I left a corporate job after 6 months in it bc I got a better offer in the cannabis industry in California. The industry is really bad right now but on top of that I can’t stand my work environment. I have been here for only four months but the amount of times I’ve been thrown under the bus or blamed for issues personally has been insane. My boss does his best but the politics in this workplace are the worst I’ve ever seen. While on one hand it seems like leadership likes me, the amount of unprofessional finger pointing is insane. Today I got called out and my boss was ripped apart for something that was 10000000% hit my fault to the point where I literally had physical evidence of the fact that it wasn’t my fault and we just…
