So back in July, I was let go by my company since they believe my creativity in marketing & design does not meet up to their standards. Mind you they're very specific about what they want and they only want one kind of fixed design for all the marketing creatives which are hard even for designers to work around it especially if you wish to stand out. At the end of the day, they demand and question how are they not getting enough leads. I've offered them numerous proposals and designs that could break into the market but they immediately rejected them. Fast forward to my new job, my new bosses gladly accepted the proposals & ideas which helped them reach the necessary target they want and even break into the market for it. Ironically, my ex-company immediately copied and paste the entire idea they rejected in the first place.…
Clocking out just to go get a croissant?
Our company has this service where a local bakery comes to our workplace and sells croissants, sandwiches and other snacks out of a small van so we can get some breakfast in the morning. The van stops in front of our main entrance, so we have to get up and go outside to grab something. My coworker just told me, that we're supposed to clock out when we go get something. And apparently there are people/bosses checking this?? I've never clocked out before to get my daily morning croissant (I never got in trouble so far) and I won't clock out in the future. It takes maybe 3 – 5 minutes. Just wtf? This is the first time I experienced this sort of corporate greed from my company. Our department is overworked as shit. We are a helpdesk of 4 people for close to 1100 colleagues in the whole country.…
Boss checking
When your new boss says to you that you have daily meetings at 9 Am which is as soon as you start working what is that called? For me it is ARE YOU AWAKEN SON OF A BITCH
https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2022/09/unions-and-ns-in-talks-but-rail-strike-still-on-for-friday/ Today starts a 24 hour strike of the national railway. No trains will be running in the country and many local busdrivers across the country are also on strike. The dutch railway company has already admitted they made mistakes in not hiring enough people, leading to long workhours and a lot of workers being overworked. But the FNV union has not accepted the railway companies offer of a 5% pay increase and a one time bonus.
I work for a small Union with only a few current companies. There were high ranking members from the company that employs me in attendance that didn't seem to like the questions we asked. Is it retaliation if they layoff/fire us tomorrow?
