I own a company, I want to see your perspective.

I’ve recently downloaded Reddit and have come across a few of the posts here. Just very interested in what this sub stands for. My background, son of immigrants. I only worked blue collar jobs. Until me and my family bought a company. Company is a service based in the Midwest. How many chances do I give before I fire employees? Example. I got 4 I’m firing. They service 6 locations and 5 of them we ran into these issues 1 Canceled our service 2 Requested to not have these ppl on their account 3 About to cancel service if we don’t remove the crew, if we don’t get all missed things fixed, and if we don’t refund one month of service to them 4 Requested a different crew do to not following protocol 5 Having issues with job being completed If I’m paying 20hours over time a week each person…

Work bragging about profits while cutting commission and upping workload

I need to rant about this because I am so baffled at the tactics of management. So my work does a thing called a “roadshow” where basically all employees join a meeting and upper management brag about how well the companies doing and discuss the profut turnover and thanks the staff for the effort for making this possible. Fast forward a week and a new commission structure is introduced decresing monthly commission from around £500 to capped at £100, understandably a lot of staff left. So the remaining staff have to pick up the slack, so doing more work, for less pay, and it's just expected? I think my resignation is going in on monday.

Question about starting small businesses

Having read many, many posts on /r/antiwork about the absolutely garbage conditions most workers face with their employers who are mostly large corporations, it seems to me that conditions are ripe for small businesses to be started up where employees are treated fairly, and offer an alternative for spending money at the big box businesses. I know most of us don't have money to invest in a business startup, so maybe there are options for doing it like a community co-op or something?

Hour long meetings for what could have been a brief email

Every Friday afternoon before we go home there’s a wrap up meeting at our office. We basically recap what we did for the week and plan for next week. Most of the time it’s my manager going over a piece of paper that we can just READ. The thing is, I seem to be the only one that wants to get to the point and get the fuck out (I want to to start my WEEKEND) I often feel like maybe it’s a me problem, as no one else seems to have a problem staying an extra hour at the office. It literally turns into a social hour as I grind my teeth in the chair looking at this sheet of info that i’ve already read, but having to wait until my boss gets through it himself. My coworkers joyfully joking around and going off on tangents painfully prolongs this.…

Im not meeting my “metrics,” for the board and I’m facing some heat. Yet, I can’t bring myself to work harder

Im already working my ass off. I guess the depression is making it harder or making it seem like I’m doing more than I actually am. I’m struggling to get more people in my program at work. I have a steady group in my program and they keep coming back, but the company is expanding and wants more attendance. So the plan is for a second cohort this fall. I asked for assistance because not only am I recruiting for this program, but I’m also creating the curriculum and facilitating it. They said we can look into assistance if I get more people in. Im just struggling so bad to maintain that every little thing makes me burst out into tears. Things take me longer to do than most bc of my adhd and my depression. Idk what to do. I want another job maybe but the pay here is…

Please Start Reporting Job Posting you see!!

Many companies are posting misleading or incorrect job ads. In example labeling a job as remote then saying in the description full-time ONSITE. Or companies posting job ads then they have broken links to the actual job application (keep seeing this on LinkedIn). Another thing Ive seen is companies that are blatantly discriminating in the job description/requirements. Ive started to report these job postings and you should as well. Especially report jobs that are clearly scams. This will maybe hold companies accountable for their shitty HR practices.
