I'm a contractor for a government position. Salaried exempt. The company who owns the contract didn't get renewed, and the new company has a policy of no comp time. Basically, the company can ask you to work 50 hours and pay you for 40 because they don't offer overtime, but if you need to go to a doctor's appointment, they expect you to use PTO for it, or accept docked pay. This place is open 24/7, and the holidays are coming up. So people on the skeleton crew like me just get fucked over? Is this legal? Is there any recourse for employees? Help.
Had an interview for a well known company that sounds like Depsi co. I walk in and shake hands with two guys that answered the door. I say politely “Could we…
See the letter here. GEICO has recently begun captive audience meetings with management where cell phones and laptops are banned to prevent recording. Rumbling is they’ve hired a union-busting firm as well.
That’s Illegal Buddy
So I work as a manager and like everyone, everywhere, we're hiring. My boss calls me and tells me he needs me to do an interview for him for a call center agent. I look at the CV and it's pretty good. Lots of experience in what we need. But he says he needs to talk to me first. I'll type out the convo since I think it will have more impact. Boss: So, this one's different. He has a record. Rooster: Like, a criminal record? B: Yes. He self disclosed that he has a record. So unfortunately we already know we're not going to take him. R: Okay…..(Note that I have never ran across this situation before. B: So we're gonna do this a bit different. You know the drill. Introduce the company. Get to know his experience and strengths. How he deals with hot callers. The usual. Unfortunately…

But now this job is getting easier and easier with each program change and we are getting a pay raise???! 14+/hr while fast food managers get 12/hr??????? This system is SO broken.
