I’m not resigning.. fire me bitch
Okay, where to start. So I began my position in January 2020. Weird interview process, my boss is strange. But whatever, if she leaves me alone I can do my job. Horrible training, I taught myself almost everything. Covid happened, sent home to work remotely. No reason we couldn't have been at home anyways.. I worked from home 2.5 months after starting the role and quickly became the top performer on the team. Woot! I have the largest account in the company, and was given more vendors as well because I could handle them. Fast forward to 2021, they've been saying we'd be back in the office “in no time” for over a year. (Despite management downplaying it and even suggesting it was a hoax, president of the company wasn't an idiot.) We didn't need to be there and we all worked better from home, as they even told us…
Everyone here seems to be blaming capitalism. What do you think about the role of the government in the stagnant life standards. It seems like this subreddit is just another anti-cap or socialist subreddit. What do you think about the government reducing house permits so rent is high, taxes half your paycheck and then you pay even more than that with everything you purchase making cost of living so high. How about forcing medical laboratories to work with insurance companies not letting the common people participate in price negotiation so a drug that costs $2 in materials can be sold for 750. What about all the endless red tape forcing every business to hire entire legal departments full of people tossing papers around or economists auditors pretty much same usefulness. People that could have been engineers and produce for everyone. What about all the money on wars. What about the…
How is this possible?
I left my job earlier this month because it actually was making me ill to work there. Now that I have quit I realized I can't get a job in the same field or even in the same salary bracket. I am “under-experienced”. How the hell is this possible? How are people surviving out here on 17/hr?
Work at a shitty restaurant. Shithole has a hard time retaining people unless they are in bar or server. Kitchen manager, we will call him JL, is pulling up resumes and pulls one with extensive experience, even went to culinary school. JL goes to General Manager, we will call him KS, about this resume. JL says new hire wants $18 per hour. KS says “no”; faster than I ever heard him say no, ever. I inquire for what reason are you passing on this guy, this guy has more experience than half of kitchen combined. KS says new hire needs room to “grow” and that hire came from New York, so no $18 per hour. What the fuck is room to grow? That sounds so fucking capricious I become flabbergasted on how dumb that answer was. I start trying to ask more questions about that reasoning. I get interrupted by…
All I see in this subreddit is talking and complaining, if we want something done there has to be coordination. Without that it's just a pipe dream nothing will ever happen. Is there a discord where people are planning work walk outs, marches, something?
How can I stay active on Microsoft teams
The app goes into away mode within like 3 mins. Is there a way to make sure it’s always green without having to download a software or buy a anything?
To work or not?
Throw away account. So, I have an incurable condition that affects my ability to work, as a result, I get generous state benefits, housing paid for the whole 9 yards. This means that unless my benefits are stopped (which won’t happen because my condition is uncurable) I have a choice. However, a few months ago, I started taking a new medication which improved my condition somewhat, and now I am being pressured by family (and society) to come off the benefits and work. Problem is, the money I am getting now is more than enough to live on, plus I have all of my own time which I now use to help others. Furthermore, before I got sick, I used to work the 9 to 5 and understand how depressing the whole experience can be, for example, dealing with rude customers/managers. On top of that, if I start working again,…
