Part time job making me work full time hours

Hello Reddit, I’m sure you’ve heard of this problem before. I currently work in a retail job part time. I previously wrote this when I was finishing up college, but now I officially graduated (thank God idk how lol). During college, despite telling my retail boss ahead of time that I need schedule adjustments, they still make me work four-five days (around 33-40 hours) per week. The retail store doesn’t have enough people and I am a lead so they are really relying on me. I have been offered to become a full-time employee two times but declined for the following reasons: — 1st time: Declined because of…

Now after college, I’m afraid if I make schedule adjustments, then they will be rejected because I have no excuse. What makes it worse is that for my position, I have to let the company know one month ahead about schedule changes.

I have been offered to become a full-time employee two times but declined for the following reasons:

1st time: Declined because of college.

2nd time: In-person retail is not a secure job (according to my mother).

I know this might make me sound lazy and spoiled because I know there are people that have done more work, but I can already feel my body and mind just be so exhausted. I am trying my best to get into life after graduation by getting a full-time career lined up and such. And even in moments like where I am right now where I I’m trying to rest, my mind is just all over the place. Idk what to do.
