He worked as a regional technology manager in IT. A lot of people in his company were as, but only him and I think two others so far in the IT department were. He was with the company for a bit over a year now, working remote with some business travel. This was his dream job, so he's a bit shattered.
He was offered a severence package for three weeks with holiday payout. Benefits would be kept at his own expense. He's wondering how to go about negotiating severence, but I'm thinking he'd need an attorney for that.
Should he wait on applying for unemployment? I can't be much help to him as I've never been in the situation and don't work in IT, so this is all I've really got. We're in PA.
