Passed out and still had to work

My first job I worked at an amusement park near my house. I was 14 and it was the only place that would hire me at the time. I was only getting paid 5.00 an hour as they were able to pay below minimum wage due to it being seasonal employment. Anyway, I was a costume character at the park which means I would have to dress up in different character outfits (mouse, dinosaur, cat etc) and do meet and greats with the kids in the park. We had to do them for an hour at a time and the costumes were riddled with mold and while they did have fans to try to cool us down all of the fans in the costumes were broken and countless requests to fix them were ignored. One time on a particularly hot day one of my coworkers passed out in her costume and was pulled (literally) off stage in the costume as we will get fired if we take our head pieces off in front of the families. She was then given a glass of water and immediately forced to go back out on stage. She refused at first but was told she would be fired if she didn’t so she came back out. She ended up passing out again almost immediately and was fired because of it. We were both pretty young so neither of us ever did anything about it and a lot of parents ended up complaining that they weren’t able to do the meet and great with the character that she was. I guess all of this is to say that while I understand wanting your kids to have a good experience, they probably won’t even remember it and you should extend a little sympathy as you never know what’s going on. Also take them to a park and don’t waste. your money on an overpriced amusement park that forces minors into dangerous situations for 5 dollars an hour
