Passed up for promotion —

I was hired on in June for an AP specialist role to transition into a full on manager role. The person I took over for left things completely undone and just a mess. I will say I should’ve walked a long time ago but convinced myself to stay because it would get better. I ended up getting pregnant, which my husband and I were completely planning for it {irrelevant, right?} Well things recently got better. Earlier today, my manager and I were talking and she mentioned someone would be starting next week, so I asked what they will be doing. Can you guess? The person will be taking the position I was transitioning to. They hired someone from outside for said position. — “They will be doing the position you were going to do, permanently but won’t be able to since you’ll be out for a while”. Well things recently got better.

Unfortunately I didn’t have this written or in email form so there’s not much I can do.

I guess I’m just looking to rant.

I’m due middle of January. Would it be stupid for me to start applying to jobs now?

or Should I wait it out?

EDIT: No maternity leave. I’ll only be out 6 weeks.
