One of my relatives has been with a certain company for 10+ years and is receiving a 15% paycut due to a role change.
They are in a unique position because they are the only one with this current role and NO ONE has been hired or trained to do what they do, and the training for a new fill would take MONTHS to come close to their output.
Their new role has several already proficient in it but I 100% know this company will still ask for my relative's help very often for the duties of the old role.
I told them to do only what the new role requires and not ANYTHING extra. Hope this company has fun not being able to get shit done.
I'm even more pissed than if this would have happened to me because this person is the sweetest and most hard working person I know.
