This was at a resturaunt and we were servers. This coworker of mine checkmated the company and gtfo of there. It was a legendary move. As servers, we would drop any owed cash in the drop box at night. If we overplayed them we would definitely NOT see that money again. But on the contrary, the moment they over pay us- they get it back one way or another. I am no longer a server so I don't have to deal with that anymore but that really grinded my gears.
And just a side note, I had to get to work over an hour early just to find good parking. It was the difference of walking 30 minutes or getting there early and sitting for 45 min. We definitely did not get paid for travel time. Just another nail in the coffin for why I finally quit.
