people aren’t even working at work, but refuse to let me not work

This is a kinda frustrating thing, that theoreticall shouldn't bother me but it.. kinda does. Currently we got revision. Means we shut the entire place down, and we all get some hands-on work to fix up as much of the place as we can to keep everything in working condition when we are open for the public again.. Anyway, something that bugs me is the way people “work”.. one guy doesn't even change out of his street clothes for the entire day, even though there is no real task at hand where you get away without getting dirty. Another one is just there for 4 hours, spends those 4 hours on the office computer (not doing anything as far as I know), drinking coffee and leaving. Then there are the 3 idiots that do all kinds of shit. Okay, accepted, screwing around here and there is fine in my book,…

Okay, accepted, screwing around here and there is fine in my book, work doesn't need to be boring, but they genuinely just stand around all day and do nothing really.

Meanwhile, I can't even get time to look for a task for myself before this one colleague will hand me some stupid ass shitty tasks. The other day I spent 4 hours literally just standing around, holding a hose.. or the other time, spending 3 hours holding a lamp.

Then I eventually find a task to do, disassembling old sewer pipes mounted to the ceiling, sounds bad but I kinda love some actual hands on work, unbolting what isn't corroded and beating the rusty old cast iron pipes to pieces with a hammer. so far spent 3 days just doing that. Why do I do that?

Because 2 of the pipes are broken and leak sewage from upstairs all over the central heating.. and what did I find out? That they were told YEARS AGO that those fucking pipes are broken and need replaced. Nobody did jack shit, I didn't know because, as usual, nobody tells me, and instead they all screw around all day doing nothing, or giving me pointless tasks, instead of actually fixing things.

And not just that, then I get berated for doing that work on the ceiling on top of a ladder.. all by myself. Why? because the dumb fucks I asked for help kept either screwing around or left for breakfast without telling me, and I can do that work by myself just fine. At the end of the day they will be like “oh I need to take a shower before leaving, I'm so done” after screwing around all day.. and I, who got showered all day with rust, salt, and sewage debris has to wait for them.. fucking dipshits.
