People who work 4 10-hour days a week, do you get the same holiday time off as 5 8-hour shifters?

I believe the fair and logical method to holiday time off, is to deduct the holiday time from each shifter's schedule. for example, christmas eve and christmas off = 16 hours. So 5-8 would get two working days off, and 4-10 would get one day and 6 hours from another day. the reason I ask is because this isn't the standard at my work place. A coworker said that is a privilege to 5-8 is because they don't get 2nd shift premium. 2nd shift is 4-10. I insist that the 2nd shift premium is due to time of day worked, like it is everywhere that I have worked, where it is also only 5-8 times.
