Growing up, my parents made a lot of promises, and conditions to keeping those promises.
I did my chores, homework and anything else asked of me.
No six flags, or park, or movie.
“We'll go next time.” They said. But it never happened… eventually it got so bad that even if we went somewhere; i wasnt allowed to anything.
So eventually i learned to be lazy and not get excited about the prospect of a reward; bc i knew it wasnt real.
Work is very much the same.
Upper management promises rewards and benefits.
But the reward is their profit; and their benefits.
I dont go to meetings. Or consider anyone at work “family”.
Its all the same fake bs from when i was a kid.
I learned to not expend my energy on anything but myself and what's mine.
Having 3 days off sure would help. But I'm not going to get excited over this. Bc i know every “company” is going to “show all the others up” by working even more, just to prove a point… idk what point it is… that your employees are better bootlicking zombies than the other company?
