She works for a third party company that only comes to draw blood for blood work. I went in on Friday and she was an older lady. Been there for 17 years. So nice and sweet. We were talking and she was kinda upset cause her daughter had a rehearsal dinner on Saturday cause she was getting married. She asked her boss 3 months in advance to be off that Friday to drive the 8 hours to be there and they told her no. She said she had five weeks of vacation saved up but they couldn’t give her one day. 17 years she’s been working there. I told her she should have quit after they told her no. She was near tears cause she doesn’t like driving at night but she would have to cause she had 7 patients and I was number two. She couldn’t leave until after the 7th one and she had partial night blindness. All this to make her boss happy. She said she couldn’t live with herself to call in even after they denied her. I told her I would have sung a song as I called in. She is highly skilled and not easy to replace. She has leverage, but she has that old school mentality and they are taking advantage of her.
