I dont know why this is a debate for so many people. If you want to take the employers side, its really in their best interest for their employees to be well fed anyways, since its easier to work when youre fed (obviously) and being able to speak on the quality and taste of different things accurately will improve the customer service side of things…
But i honestly dont care about all that that much. People deserve to eat. Do you know how much food goes to waste at these places? At my old job, we werent allowed to eat anything even if it was going to be thrown out, even if it was perfectly safe to eat. I cant imagine looking someone in the eye when i have an overabundance of food and telling them that for all their work for me they dont deserve anything. I bet the kinds of people who think thats moral are the same kinds of people who think making schoolchildren pay for lunch is perfectly sensible.
