please help me navigate this situation.

I work for a restaurant chain as a bar server. Every year we have a performance review where people from the company come and examine our work and mark us as a restaurant based on it. Doing this we are asked to complete a series of modules at home for additional training. These modules combined take up to 3 hours. Is it legal for them to not pay me for this time and yet it's mandatory?
