So an employee refers me to an open role at their workplace. HR never sends me the interview materials they say I’ll need (despite my repeatedly asking), and after the interview, I get rejected from the job (unsurprisingly, since they never sent the materials).
I then reach out to another hiring manager on a different team, and he encourages me to apply for a role on his team when one opens. He says he would love to chat once a role opens.
Here’s his message:
Hi John, thanks for reaching out. As I mentioned at the time, I don't have any roles open at the moment, but will likely have one in the coming weeks. Happy to chat more if you are interested once the opening is posted.
Few weeks later, a role opens, and he sends me a link to the job posting.
Here’s his message:
John, that posting is live now. (URL/link)
I apply, and get promptly rejected by HR without even a phone screen. I then reach out to the hiring manager to tell him I’ve applied and would like to take him up on his offer to chat. He then says HR will screen all the resumes and reach out to me if they think I’m a good fit.
Here’s his message:
Thanks for reaching out, John. Our process is that the recruiter will review all resumes and then reach out to let you know if she feels it is a good fit and would like to move forward. Hope you are doing well!
