Hey all,
Allegedly over the weekend a coworker at my place of employment got into an altercation which led to someone being hospitalized. I happened to speak with the detective when he came by yesterday because I was the only person outside the office. He then spoke with my managers to explain the situation. I found put from one of my managers that they (management) has not informed my coworker of the situation. Apparently HR has to investigate first. Based on my brief interaction with my co-worker today, he appears to be completely unaware that he is being investigated by the homicide department (the victim is still in critical condition). I feel like I should tell my coworker what's going on so that he can get a lawyer and prepare for the shitstorm that's coming his way. I've been instructed by management to say nothing to anyone including my coworker.
What should I do?
