Post I found on my small Idaho college town facebook page. Thoughts?

Delete if not allowed. My advice to local job seekers. To the many people on this page looking for jobs on this page and in the ——— area this is my advice and honest feedback to you from someone who owns and manages multiple companies in ——— and has been the hiring manager at other companies before. 1) Your resume probably sucks. I get over 10 resumes a day that are at least 2 pages long and quite simply every time they go into I delete them or through them. A good resume should be 1 page long and to the point. 2) Check up on your application or reapply if you hear nothing back. If someone doesn't check up it tells managers that you don't really want a job if you harass us we probably will give you a chance. 3) Your not going to make a thousand dollars…

3) Your not going to make a thousand dollars a week working 20 hours a week while not doing any “undesirable work.” Sometimes you need to “sell your soul to the company” in order to make the money you want. I worked hard and smart and now am able to be well off and to get to that point someone else will have to do the same. Call centers, retail, and sales all make good money in this town primarily because they pay primarily on commission a lot of times which can increase your pay.

4) Employers don't care about your personal life. Honestly we want someone who will show up on time to starting off your interview and then to work everyday. We don't care that your stressed because your taking 8 credits in school, the pioneers managed to hike across America I think you can work and go to school at the same time.

5) Work hard and get rewarded. Despite what I said in the previous 4 points we want to reward you and we want you to do well. If you work hard in a way that helps the company we as managers try to do as much as we can to reward you whether that be through raises or items like PTO.

The list could go on and on. Some people might think I'm just being hard on them or “pure evil” but at the end of the day we want to find someone reliable that will help business operations that is enjoyable and profitable to work with.

If you have any questions or comments I will try to reply to as many as I can on this post over the next few days.
