Finally getting serious about leaving my current job but it's been a while since I've applied to a new place and I'm wondering if this is normal for companies nowadays since I've never had to fill one out or if this is a potential red flag. At the end of my application they wanted me to fill out a WOTC questionnaire that stated the info I gave them will help determine if the company is eligible for certain fed/state tax credits but will not negatively impact any hiring, retention or promotional decisions. I'm not completely comfortable filling it out, they asked for my social, some normal questions like if I was a veteran or a felon but some of the other questions are throwing up a bit of a red flag for me. E.g if I've been unemployed for certain amount of time and received unemployment, received vocational rehabilitation services, if I or a household member received SNAP or any other assistance. I know at the beginning it was talking about the company potentially receiving tax credits but I'm not sure if that's 100% the case or if they're using the info to weed out applicants getting gov assistance or specifically looking to hire individuals needing some form of assistance to exploit them because of their situations. Have any of you dealt with this before and what are your thoughts and experiences?
