Potentially fired for not accepting a “promotion”

So I work as a data entry specialist for a local company. They’re expanding fairly quickly and they’ve realized that my two person data team isn’t able to handle the increasing workload. I agreed with this and they started discussing the possibility of me becoming the “head of all tech related fields”. I was interested because it would come with a $7 pay raise which would be great but I wanted to discuss what the new position would entail before I accepted. They told me we would arrange a meeting with the owner and get all of that sorted out in a couple days. Cut to the day of the meeting and it turns out the owner can’t make it so he has the two upper level managers break it down for me.
Basically I would end up doing exactly what I’m doing now plus everything else that would have to do with tech: keeping all computers updated, cybersecurity, tech support, backend support, front end support, etc. And if anything went wrong with any of those it would fall on me. I asked if we would be able to hire somebody to fill my current position if I picked up those duties and they said yes. They then mentioned that they’re hoping to promote somebody who has the same drive they do since this is a growing company and it would be an investment to move up early and would be willing to work on projects outside of work so they can focus on managing the other employees during work hours. This was the final piece in my decision to turn it down so I told them I appreciated the consideration but I don’t want to sacrifice my time with my SO (and all my free time). They seemed understanding and thanked me for my time.
This happened almost a week ago now and they sent me home on Friday “because the shipment got delayed so there was nothing to do” and told me not to come in yesterday either. I tried calling and messaging multiple times today and they haven’t replied to any.
Now I’m worried I’m being fired because I found out they had the other employee come in yesterday without me.
Any ideas what to do?
I’ve already submitted an application to another place and am prepared to send in more just in case.
