A year ago I left a child development agency I had been with for 5 years after having a disrespectful meeting with the directors. It was a phone call and wrote down the shit they said
I got a call yesterday from one of the directors asking me to come back. They can't find anyone permanent. They don't understand l why other professionals in the area don't like the people they hire. People in the community refuse to work with the new people and ask for me. I told them hell no. Below is some shit they said to me in the zoom meeting.
“if someone is afraid to talk to staff, they need to think about whether they're in the right company.”
I was never afraid to talk to anyone. Don't know why she thought I was.
” There are inconsistencies in your story, and it's a repeat issue”
They couldn't name a single inconsistency and tried to backtrack.
” If it was your puppy you would be banging on doors to get answers”.
They tried to compare me paying for 2 surgeries for my dog to my job. I worked so hard to get my dog the surgeries she needed, but didn't work hard enough for them.
” You're only doing the easy work”
It was quickly proven by our data analysis that not only did I complete all my work in a timely manner, I was actually helping a lot of other people with their shit as well.
” We don't want to hear excuses”
I was the only person working on a county wide event, and the “excuses” were that the state was refusing to allow something to take place because of covid so i didn't knew what to do. Apparently, I wasn't supposed to follow state mandates. They wanted me to risk getting preschools closed so they would look good, and I refused.
” We don't want you talking to anyone. If there's an issue you need to come to us”.
I went to my supervisor and asked for help. Which i didn't get. Apparently, I was not allowed to go to my supervisor.
” You don't see the potential in yourself.”
I asked for training and classes so I could advance in the field. They refused to send me to trainings or to promote me.
” You don't know how to coordinate efforts”
That was literally my title and why I was hired because they were impressed with my skills. My main job was coordinating large and small events, parenting classes, and stuff for kids. I had to train other people on how to do it, but apparently I didn't know how?
“Why would we give you a raise when you're not meeting your scope of work”
Again, it was proven that I did all my work and others.
