The big bosses at my former employer shoved a project down my team's throat almost a year ago which made no sense for us to work on.
I called this out – a lot – and after about 2 months it was called off due to some changes elsewhere in the org. But at the start of 2023 it came back, and I spent almost 3 more solid months working on it and hating every second.
Eventually gave my notice and finished a few weeks ago, just no faith in management left. The project was 2 months overdue owing to delays in the org (though my part was finished) so I handed my work to a colleague and wished them luck. I was not the only senior staffer to quit as a result of this project.
Just found out today the project is off again, for good this time.
I'm glad to be vindicated that this was a terrible idea from day one, but also flabbergasted that it went so far.
Oh well, not my problem anymore
