I work in a high stress mental health job working closely with the most severe cases. After working the job for nearly two years I decide to make a change and put in a 4 weeks notice.
Two days before I turned in my notice it was announced that employees that worked from January 1st – present would receive a bonus for their hard work. I was excited that before I left I would be getting a nice bonus.
When it came time to paying me the bonus last week everyone else got one except for me. I confronted my boss about it, and they said that I would have to talk to HR & that one other employee was in a similar situation and nothing ended up happening. Any suggestions? Do I consider hiring a lawyer?
