Just in case anyone didn't know, if your company is not paying you for the time it takes to turn your computer on and sign into all applications this is an unfair labor practice and wage theft. If you are having to sign into your computer outside of your 8-hour work day this would actually be considered over time. It may not seem like much but it does add up over the course of a year and a company committing unfair labor practices puts the workers in a position with more bargaining power because at the moment you are able to strike and keep your job. Violations of the FLSA carry a fine of up to $1,000 per violation and willful violations carry a fine of up to $10,000 per violation and criminal prosecution.
