Has anyone seen tables for the “Parker Project?” It claims to be a charity that helps cancer patients with expenses, but it's really a pyramid scheme MLM.
Your job there (which I interviewed for) is to solicit donations using sales tactics and convincing sob stories, and once you surpass the daily quotas for collected donations (yes, they set quotas for donations), you get promoted and then you're supposedly put on a path to hosting your own fundraisers and taking a cut of the profits. They won't fucking tell you that your job is literally standing by a shitty table begging passers-by for money and telling them “you're helping kids with cancer.”
Only about 40% of the money they make helps people with cancer, the rest is pocketed. Reps get a 30% cut of all money they collect. For a charity that claims to be doing the Lord's work, they are mysteriously obscure and have no ratings on any website. Their tables only have a few beat-up laminate papers on them telling people where their money is supposedly going, and their social media presence is shady as well.
TL;DR: don't donate to Parker Project. They are grifters who use charity to get rich. There are other charities that actually do help people
